Looking for Ways to Give Back This Holiday?

Here are a few ideas of ways you can help your community during the holiday season and beyond. For a complete list, download our PDF flier here.

Adopt men in transitional housing

11 men, in recovery from drug/alcohol addictions, live in a supportive community setting in MSC transitional housing in Federal Way. Each makes less than $350/month, half of which goes to pay rent. While living in MSC housing they work with a case manager to stabilize their lives. Many have no family or are estranged from family. Help give these men a meaningful holiday. You can:

• Provide a holiday meal (ingredients for a meal, or cook it for them)
• Provide gifts for one or many (MSC can provide a list of ideas)

For details, contact Doug Johnson, MSC Case Manager, at (253) 838-6810, ext. 161; or dougj@multi-servicecenter.com

Donate chickens, turkeys or hams

Multi-Service Center’s Federal Way Food Bank tries to offer the ingredients for a traditional holiday meal, including frozen turkey, whole chicken, or ham, distributed during the weeks of Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Individual donations can be made daily, Mon-Fri, 8:30 to 4, at our Food Bank Warehouse, located in the alley behind our program building at 1200 S. 336th St. in Federal Way. To make bulk donations of meat, contact Terri Turner, Food Bank Manager, at (253) 838-6810, ext. 163; or territ@multi-servicecenter.com

Make hygiene kits for homeless

• Bar soap
• Deodorant

Additional items needed:
• Razors/Shaving Cream
• Tampons

Pack items in a Ziplock bag, and bring to MSC’s Food Bank Warehouse, located off the alley behind our program building at 1200 S. 336th St., Federal Way, Mon-Fri, 8:30 to 4. Questions? Contact Terri Turner, Food Bank Manager, at (253) 838-6810, ext. 163; or territ@multi-servicecenter.com
