Helping Families Find Homes
Multi-Service Center offers transitional housing for families with low income, who cannot afford market rate housing, and who are ready and willing to make changes in their lives to become more self-sufficient. If they qualify, families can live for up to two years in MSC housing throughout South King County. During this time, program participants work with a case manager to reduce the barriers to self-sufficiency such as mental health issues, physical disabilities, drug/alcohol treatment, employment, education, legal and/or financial issues.
Basic requirements include:
- Families include single-parent or two-parent families with at least one child under 18 years of age
- Families must be homeless (per HUD definition)
- Family income must be less than 30% of AMI (Area Median Income); (amount depends on family size)
- Participants must be willing to participate in case management
NOTE: Families who have a history of inability to get along with others, a history of violent or disruptive behaviors are not appropriate for MSC’s Transitional Housing Program.
