Programs and Resources in Education

Multi-Service Center’s Education Program offers resources and support, customized to the individual, in small-sized classes and in one-on-one tutoring. Many students tell us that our supportive and encouraging instructors made all the difference in helping them to succeed and reach their goals. Instruction is free. If you are ready to further your education, we are ready to help you.

We offer instruction in:

Adult Basic Education (ABE)

For adults who never learned to read, life can be very challenging. Our tutors understand these difficulties and offer a supportive and encouraging environment that helps students reach their goals. Learn more here

English as a Second Language (ESL)

Arriving in a new country and not being able to speak or read the language can significantly impact one’s ability to survive and thrive. Multi-Service Center offers ESL classes in very small group settings or in one-on-one tutoring. Whether a student needs to brush up on already-learned skills, or learn from scratch, our tutors can help them improve their reading, writing and speaking of the English language. Learn more here

General Education Development (GED) instruction

We offer experienced tutors to help students pass each of the five required exams for them to earn their GED, or high school equivalency certificate. With support from their tutor, even students who struggled in a public school setting can find success in our program. Learn more here

HEART Program for Homeless Children

We offer a weekly after-school educational program for children living at MSC's Family Shelter. The program, which incorporates reading, crafts and one-on-one attention from caring adults, offers homeless children support in their education. Learn more here
